Bob Kay, owner of BK Motors, is the antithesis of
the stereotype of a used car salesman. My husband and I bought a 1989
Subaru Outback with 120,000 miles on it from him. We were well aware
we were getting an older car and Bob clearly explained that he couldn’t
offer any kind of warranty on a car of that age. We got such a good price we
decided the risk was worth it. I gave him my big gas guzzling 4WD F350
that I no longer needed to sell on consignment.
We had the Subaru for only a week when the engine
blew. I told Bob that I was well aware that he was not responsible for
anything that might happen after I drove the car off the lot. He was
having nothing of it. He took the car to his mechanic and had a rebuilt
engine put in totally at his expense. He returned to us, at no cost to
us, a car that was worth more than we had paid. He could have done
nothing. He could have suggested we split the cost because, after all we
were getting a “new” engine. Instead he stood behind his product because,
as he put it, integrity is far more valuable than money.
This the guy you want to buy a used car from.
P.S. He found a buyer for my truck, did some
cosmetic repairs she requested and netted me exactly what I was hoping
for.

Bob gave me advice on a problem I
had a couple of month's ago. Although we couldn't do business, I was able
to resolve my problem from his advice. Because of his professionalism and
the fact he is a car guy, I went back to get my car detailed at his shop.
I am in a related business to the car industry and have been an enthusiast
for a half century. BK's Detail shop did an incredible job on my A6 Audi.
From the finish, to fixing small scratches and dents to detailing the
inside including the glove box, it was outstanding. Thanks for the
excellent work.

I have sold three cars through BK Motors. Bob Kay
is very professional and did everything he said he would do. All three
cars sold in the time frame he predicted. He helped me set a reasonable
price and took care of all of the DMV paper work. It was great not to
have to set up appointments or worry about all the legal issues. He also
helped set a reasonable price, which prevented a lot of negotiating. I
would definitely use him again to sell a car or buy a used car.

As I was
driving to Fearless Fitness last night, I realized my little Nissan Maxima
is just 7,000 miles away from hitting the 200,000 mile mark. I am so
proud of it! It still runs like a champ and if I continue to take good
care of it, it should last for several more years, if not more.
I just read
my original post when I purchased the car in October 2006: We
Bought a Car! I was very pregnant with Dante at the time and
was happy the experience was so pleasant. Paul and I had been dreading
buying a new car as we had several not-so-fun car buying experiences
prior to that.
We ended up
paying $7,784.51 in cash for the car. I remember thinking that if
I could get the car to last five years; I would end up paying just
$129.74 per month for it. At this point, I have paid $169.23 per month
and am thrilled with my investment.
If you
happen to live in Northern California and are in need of a car, I highly

I will start by saying
that I DO NOT BUY NEW CARS! Also, I am very leery of small, "FLY BY NIGHT"
car lots. I work on the coast and drive by BK Motors several times a day.
So, when a friend told me he bought a car at BK Motors and how happy he
was I was somewhat surprised. Then I started to pay more attention to the
cars for sale at BK, because I too was in need of a new one.
Then it happened, my car gave out and I gave in. I pulled in to take a
look and I left in a 2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid. WOW!!!!! Bob Kay was,
without a doubt, ANYTHING but a "CAR SALESMAN" and his dealership is
ANYTHING but "FLY BY NIGHT!" Bob is very personable and easy to talk to.
The car sold itself, as Bob is very selective of what he takes in to sell.
I feel I got a great car at a great price.
Squeaky clean does not begin to describe the amazing detail work done by
Jose! He is a credit to his profession! Would I buy from BK Motors again??

Bob Kay is the antithesis of a used car
salesman. He is warm, personable world traveler, has been in the
business for 28 years, and provides a real service to the Coastside with
his unique business. He takes cars on consignment for owners and has
developed a reputation for top quality used cars. We know many
people who have had great experiences selling and buying cars there.
I was ready to buy a brand new fairly expensive intermediate car when my
wife suggested that we visit B. K. Motors. I needed a second car for
occasional use, and he had the perfect older car for $2,995! It is
in fabulous shape, and he made the whole experience painless. I even
got my six year old Toyota Sienna van detailed and they took every dent
and scratch out, and made the paint, leather, carpeting and everything
look positively brand new! It was beyond detailing and probably
raised the value of the formerly tired looking "dog car" by several
thousand dollars--you simply can't believe the results!

I purchased a "new" used car from BK Motors
last month and I couldn't be happier - both with the car (I've always
wanted a convertible) and with the service. Bob (the owner) was very
friendly and professional and took care of all the financing and paperwork
there at the dealership. He was so nice and didn't pressure me at all -
he's the first car dealer that I wasn't intimidated by. Most of them are
like sharks at feeding time! Anyway, if you need a car and don't want to
hassle, check out BKMotors. Maybe you'll be as pleasantly surprised as I
was.

Bought my car from
Bob Kay at BK Motors last week. Was probably the easiest car
transaction I made in the last 20 years. He know his stuff and
doesn't try to sell you something he doesn't think you want. I came
back three times to check out this one car and he was pleasant and
professional each time. He gets a lot of different inventory in all
the time, so I'd recommend checking his place out if you're in the HMBay
area and are looking for some wheels.

I have purchased and sold my car with BK
Motors. Bob Kay, the owner, is such a nice guy. I know that's shocking as
he is a car salesman, but it's true.
BK Motors is a consignment car dealership. You can get your car detailed
and bring it in or they can do it for you. The average price is about 200
bucks and includes a full detail, paint touch ups, popping out dents, etc.
His consignment fee is ridiculously reasonable as he does everything for
you. Everything. If you have a car loan, he takes care of paying it off.
If your car is from out of state (which mine was), he takes care of all
the paperwork (and you would be surprised by the paperwork required to
sell a car).
Bob Kay is a small business owner who lives in the bay area. He is honest
and straightforward (which is why he gets so many repeat customers). If
you need someone to deal with selling your car and all the extra time and
details that go with it, I highly recommend him. In addition, he has some
great deals on cars and the prices seem to be really fair.

When I left the VW showroom with this car
brand new in March of 2002, the car was not as clean nor as sparkly as it
was today after B.K. Detailing. Your wizard, Jose, did an amazing job on
it. Thanks so much for the great work and the fast turnaround. I was able
to leave the car in the morning, complete all my errands and meetings in
HMB and still get back to Pacifica by mid-afternoon. That's a big
convenience. And...I am still smiling about how beautiful my car looks. I

OH MY GOSH!!!!
It (the car) is so beautiful--I have already stopped every person I see
to tell them what an amazing job it is. The gentleman that did the
cleaning outdid himself. I like to just rub my hand over the outside
of the car because it feels like silk. And I had no expectation he
would be able to get the stains out of the carpet and on the seats but
they look brand new.
Now I am afraid to get in it and wish I didn't have to let the dog in.
I have family arriving on Sunday and they will think I keep it like that
all the time.
